Summary Judgment Granted

Summary judgment was granted in favor of our client in an action to recover its workers' compensation lien in St. Louis County, Missouri. Our client paid workers' compensation benefits after an employee was injured by a third party while working in the scope and course of employment. After he was compensated for his injuries by a third party, the employee refused to honor our client's statutory right to reimbursement of its workers' compensation benefit payments. The Court agreed that our client was entitled to its portion of the settlement proceeds and entered summary judgment in its favor, ordering the employee and his counsel to release the funds and pay our client's costs.
